Kawn, or basket, is intricately woven from bamboo. Lightweight, durable, and carried on the back via two straps similar to a backpack, Hmong use it to carry many things, including tools, food, crops, wood, and clothes. This displayed basket is sized for a child to use for play and practice.

Hneev, or crossbow, is an ancient weapon and tool used by the Hmong for centuries. Made from bamboo, it is used to hunt small game and protect oneself from wild animals. Crossbows also play an important role in Hmong funerals. The crossbow helps spirits fight and ward off foes, ensuring a safe passage through the spiritual realm.
